An American author; born in Fowler, N. Y., Aug. 22, 1841. His works include: "Capture, Prison Pen, and Escape" (1865), which was very popular; "Three Years in the Federal Cavalry" (1870); "Battles for the Union"; "Heroes of Three Wars"; "Peculiarities of American Cities"; and "Down the Great River". Died April 26, 1905.
