A kind of connection to a FDDI network where ahost is simultaneously connected to two separate devices inthe same FDDI ring. One of the connections becomes activewhile the other one is automatically blocked. If the firstconnection fails, the backup link takes over with noperceptible delay.A dual-homed device can tolerate a fault in one of its "homes"whereas a dual-attached device can tolerate a fault in oneof the rings.
