An English clergyman; born at Doncaster, Dec. 25, 1827. He was educated at Cambridge, and took orders in 1852. He published: "Wood-Notes and Church-Bells" (1873); "Lyrics, Sylvan and Sacred" (1878); "Lyra Pastoralis". Many of his verses have been set to Music.
