A German dramatist (1787-1835). He was for several years a favorite comic actor in Berlin, and skillfully adapted to local conditions a number of French comedies, among which the most popular were: "Schoolboy Pranks"; "The Journey at Common Expense"; "Of Seven the Ugliest"; "The Artisans' Festival"; "Seven Girls in Uniform".
