A Spanish playwright and journalist; born at Madrid, 1809, committed suicide Feb. 13, 1837. He adapted to the Spanish stage several French comedies, and wrote a tragedy, "Macias" (1834), on the tragic ending of a famous Galician troubadour. Five volumes of his contributions to the Revista Espanola were published in 1837; his principal work is "From 1830 to 1835, or Spain from Fernando VII. to Mendizabal" (1836).
