A sack or bag, with which any part is fomented. Also, the abdominal pouch in the kangaroo, opossum, etc., into which the young, born at a very early stage of development, are received and nourished with milk secreted from glands which open info the pouches. Such animals are termed Marsupial, Marsupiate, Marsupialia. See Generation.
