[L.] The Vis viva, or Kinetic energy, of a system is half the sum of the products formed by multiplying the mass of each particle by the square of its velocity. The Principle of Vis Viva is the fact that in the motion of any material system the change of Vis Viva in a given time equals the work done in the same time by the forces acting on the system.
