A Portuguese dramatist; died 1585. His prose comedies, "Euphrosyne" (1560), "Usilippo" (1618), "Aulegraphia" (1619), are strictly national, and are valuable both philologically and for the proverbs in which they abound. He wrote also a romance of chivalry, "The Triumph of Sagramor" (1567).
