This epithet is given by the French to various parts, as the Apophyse Grele du Marteau, the slender apophysis or process of the malleus. A long process situate at the anterior part of the neck of the malleus, which passes out by the fissure of Glaserius. It is also called the Apophysis of Rau, although it was already known to Fabricius ab Aquapendente and to Caecilius Follius.
