On the northern side of Cork Harbour, in Ireland, is the Island of Cove. The town of Cove is on the southern acclivity of a hill running from east to west. It is consequently, sheltered from the north winds and receives the full force of the sun. It is one of the mildest climates in Great Britain, and corresponds in its influence on disease with the south-west of England. It is well adapted as a winter retreat for the phthisical.
