An American religious writer and biographer; born at Argyle, N. Y., Sept. 15, 1827. He wrote "Lives" of Charles Sumner, Doddridge, Baxter, Bunyan, Addison, James Hervey, Watts, Whitefield, Abraham Booth, and "Eminent Orators and Statesmen". Died at South Argyle, in 1895.
