A German song-writer; born in Barmstedt, Holstein, June 10, 1815; died at Altona, Holstein, April 14, 1870. He was a legal functionary, whose patriotic song of "Sea-Girt Schleswig-Holstein" came universally into favor and obtained a place for his name in literature.
