The bark and leaves abound with the flavour of cinnamon, for which they may be substituted; but they are much weaker. The unopened flower-buds are used in the same manner. Aqua Cassiae, Water of Cassia, prepared by distillation, is officinal in the Edinburgh Pharmacopoeia.
