Mercury with chalk; gray powder. The U. S. preparation is made by triturating 38 parts of mercury with 10 of clarified honey and 57 parts of prepared chalk reduced by evaporation to 100 parts. The British preparation is made by triturating together 1 part of mercury and 2 parts of prepared chalk until the mercury is extinguished and the mixture has a uniform gray color.
