An American lawyer and historical writer, son of W. W. Campbell; born at Cooperstown, N. Y., July 13, 1839; died at Schenectady, N. Y., March 7, 1893. He practiced law in New York (1865-90). He wrote "The Puritan in Holland, England, and America" (1892), considered and authoritative work.
