An American lawyer, editor, and author; born in Marshall, Oneida County, N. Y., Sept. 14, 1835. In 1857 he graduated from the Albany Law School and practiced in Troy. In 1879 he became editor of the Albany Law Journal. His works include: "Humorous Phases of the Law" (1876); "Law and Lawyers in Literature" (1883); "The Elements of Criminal Law". Died Feb. 6, 1899.
