A furrow. A groove. (F.) Sillon. Anatomists have given this name to grooves on the surface of bones and other organs. See Anfractuosity. French writers on anatomy often use the term Sillons for the grooves which lodge the arteries and creep on the surface of bones; whilst those-that receive veins are called gouttieres, ' gutters.'
