One of a pair of small pyramidal cartilages that articulate with the lamina of the cricoid cartilage. The corresponding vocal ligament and several muscles are attached to it.

Are two cartilages of the larynx, situate posteriorly above the cricoid, which, by approximation, diminish the aperture of the glottis. Their upper extremities or cornua are turned towards each other, and are now and then found loose, in the form of appendices, which are considered, by some, as distinct cartilages, and termed cuneiform or tuberculated Cartilages, Cornicula Laryngis.
