Consists in treating a solution of the material to be tested with a fresh solution of sodium nitroprussiate and then adding a trace of caustic soda solution. A transient red solution is obtained, which, if creatinin is present, becomes yellow on standing. Upon boiling with dilute acetic acid Prussian blue is formed. Platidiam
- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
