Horseweed, Richweed, Horsemint, Horsecane, Bitterweed, Great or Tall Ragweed, Wild Hemp. This indigenous plant is found in low grounds and along streams, from Canada to Georgia, and west to Louisiana and Arkansas. It is an annual, and flowers in August and September. An infusion has been recommended locally in mercurial salivation. Ambrosia Elatior, Ragweed, is said by Dr. R. E. Griffith to have much more developed sensible properties.
